See work-in-progress by some of the UKs most exciting contemporary choreographers and be part of the development process.
Open Choreography Performance Evenings provide a platform for artists to present works at various stages of their creative lives. This autumn we are presenting works by four choreographers, all of whom welcome you to get involved.
You are invited to enjoy the performances and join the artists afterwards to discuss the work and share feedback.
Ben Ash, Wayfaring Encounters (working title) – An experimental performance set among two metre high wooden tripods. Get as involved as you like by moving the tripods around, or simply watch the performance.
Lewys Holt, Phrases (working title) - A dance theatre performance that combines speech influenced by stand-up comedy, improvised dance and projected text.
Eleven Farrer House, Circle of Perpetual Choirs (working title) – An intimate performance in the round. Four solos which developed from slowed-down birdsongs are woven together. You are centred inside the action, experiencing the choreography as it unfolds.
Vicky Malin, Hands - An exploration of the movements of Vicky’s hands. Choose between joining a one-on-one performance, or watch from afar.
Siobhan Davies Dance is expanding the ways in which we work with independent dance artists to create and share new work. Our new Open Choreography programme gives artists residency and performance opportunities that also invite wider audiences to experience and be part of the making process through open rehearsals, discussions and workshops.
